Step 1: Copy the Pinterest Image Link
Open the pin you’re after. In the Pinterest app, tap Share and pick a Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the top bar of your browser. Full pinterest.com/pin/ links and short pin.it links both work.
Copy the link of any Pinterest pin, paste it in the box and press Download. You get the picture in the biggest size Pinterest keeps for it, not the small copy from your feed. There’s no sign up, nothing to install and no watermark on the file. Single pins, carousels, collages and public boards all work

Open the pin you’re after. In the Pinterest app, tap Share and pick a Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the top bar of your browser. Full pinterest.com/pin/ links and short pin.it links both work.
Paste the link into the box at the top of this page and press Download. The tool reads the pin and shows you the image it found.
Look at the preview to make sure it is the right picture, then press the download button under it. The file lands in your Downloads folder, usually as a JPG or PNG.
The steps are the same everywhere. What changes is where the file ends up and how you move it into your photo library.
Open the pin in your browser and copy the address from the address bar. Paste it into the box on this page and click Download. The image goes to your Downloads folder on Windows and on Mac. Drag it to wherever you keep your project files.
A Pinterest image downloader is a web tool that takes the link of a pin and gives you the picture as a file. Pinterest shows a reduced copy in your feed so pages load quickly. The downloader looks for the larger file stored on Pinterest's image servers and lets you save that one instead.
It does not log in to Pinterest for you and it cannot open private content. It only reads pins that anyone can see, and it does not edit the image in any way.
We pass along the largest version Pinterest holds for that pin. We do not shrink it, enlarge it or sharpen it. If the creator uploaded a small image, you get a small image. If they uploaded a big one, you get the big one.
You do not need a Pinterest account or any account with us. Nothing is stamped on the image and there is no daily cap on how many pictures you can save.
You see the image first. That saves you from downloading the wrong pin when a link points to a carousel or a board with many pictures.
When a pin holds several images, or you paste a public board, you can pick the ones you want and save them together instead of one at a time.
The page runs in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac. It is light, so it loads quickly even on mobile data.
Most public links work. This table shows what to expect before you paste.
| Link type | Example | Works |
|---|---|---|
| Public pin | pinterest.com/pin/ | Yes |
| Short link | pin.it | Yes |
| Regional domain | uk.pinterest.com, in.pinterest.com | Yes |
| Public board | pinterest.com/username/board/ | Yes, in batches |
| Public profile | pinterest.com/username/ | Yes, public pins only |
| Direct image file | i.pinimg.com | Sometimes |
| Search results page | pinterest.com/search/ | No |
| Private or secret pin | Needs login | No |
Links from any country version of Pinterest work, and so do links with tracking text at the end. You do not need to clean them up. Short pin.it links work as long as Pinterest still redirects them to a live pin.
A search results page isn’t a single pin, so open one result and copy its link instead. If all you have is a direct image file link, go to the pin it came from and copy that page’s address. When a short link stops opening, use the full address from your browser. Private pins and secret boards can’t be read. If the pin is yours, make it public first and try again.
This is the standard case: a photo, illustration, poster, infographic or wallpaper. Paste the pin link and save the file.
A carousel pin holds several images in one post. Older ones were called Idea Pins. The tool lists each slide so you can save one image or the whole set.
A Pinterest collage is built from cutouts and photos placed on one canvas. It downloads as a single flat picture with the layout intact.
Paste a public board or profile link and the tool collects the pictures it can reach. Big boards load in batches, so a board with hundreds of pins may need more than one pass.
Every video pin has a cover picture. You can save that cover as an image. If you want the video itself, use the Pinterest video downloader instead.
For animated pins, this page saves the still cover. To keep the animation, use the Pinterest GIF downloader.
Pinterest keeps more than one size of every image and shows the smaller ones while you scroll. The tool asks for the largest one. For a standard vertical pin, Pinterest recommends 1000 by 1500 pixels, so plenty of pins land near that. The real size still depends on what the creator uploaded. We don’t upscale anything, because stretching a small picture just makes it blurry.
The file you get may be JPG, PNG, or WebP. JPG is often used for regular photos, while PNG is a better fit for things like logos and graphics with clear edges. WebP files are usually compact, but an older editing app might not recognize them. If you need a different format, you'll have to convert the image after saving it.
Transparency only survives if the creator uploaded a PNG that has it and Pinterest kept it that way. Pinterest converts many uploads to JPG, which cannot hold transparency, so the background is often gone before you ever download. If the pin is a PNG with a see-through background, the saved file keeps it.
There are three usual causes. The original upload may be small. You may have saved a screenshot or a feed preview instead of using the pin link. Or the picture may have been compressed by whoever reposted it. Check the pin for a source link and open it, since the original site often has a bigger copy. A reverse image search with Google Lens can also turn up a larger version.
| Method | Good for | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Pinterest download option | A quick save of one image | Not shown on every pin, and needs the app or a login |
| Right click, Save image as | Any image you can see on screen | Saves the size currently loaded, which is often small |
| Browser extension | Saving many pins while you scroll | Must be installed and asks for access to pinterest.com |
| Online downloader | Any public pin on any device | Needs a link, and cannot open private pins |
If you save one image now and then, try the three dots menu on the pin first and look for the Download image. When it is missing, or when you need the full size file on a phone, paste the link here.
A wallpaper that looks sharp in the feed can turn blurry on a big screen. Saving the full size file gives you the best chance of a clean result. Check the resolution against your screen before you set it.
Designers save color palettes, layouts and type ideas into a local folder so they can open them in Figma, Photoshop or Procreate without switching back to Pinterest.
Pins disappear when a creator deletes them or a blog goes offline. If a recipe card or a step by step craft image matters to you, keep a copy on your device.
Planners, worksheets and wall prints need the biggest file you can get, so small text stays readable on paper. Before you print or share a design, check the creator’s terms
Online sellers save packaging, product photos and shop display ideas so they can compare them with competitors. A folder of saved examples is easier to share with a team than a long Pinterest board
Copy the link again from the pin page itself, not from the feed or a search page. Make sure the whole address was copied, with no extra spaces at the start or end. If it still fails, check the table above for the link type.
Some browsers block downloads until you allow them. On iPhone, tap the download arrow in the Safari address bar to see the file. Try another browser, and pause any ad blocker for this page if the download button does nothing.
Older apps do not read WebP. Open the file in Chrome or Edge, or run it through a free image converter to get a JPG or PNG. Recent versions of Windows and macOS open WebP without extra software.
Boards load in batches, so a large board will not arrive all at once. Download the first set, then repeat. Secret boards cannot be read at all.
We never ask for your Pinterest password or any account details. You paste a public link and the file is sent to your device. Our privacy policy explains what the site records and why.
Just because a picture is public on Pinterest doesn’t mean you can use it however you like. The copyright belongs to whoever made it. Saving an image for personal reference, a private mood board or an offline folder is common and carries little risk. Posting it as your own, selling it or putting it in ads without permission is a different story. Open the pin’s source link to find the creator and check their license. When you are unsure, use images from sources that clearly allow reuse. Pinterest's copyright policy explains how owners can report misuse. This is general information and not legal advice.
In your browser's Downloads folder. On iPhone, look in the Files app under Downloads. On Android, check Downloads in your Files app, and the Gallery usually shows it too.
Yes. The tool can only read pins and boards that anyone can open. Private pins and secret boards will not work.
You can download a public board in batches. Very large boards may need a few rounds.
The profile picture itself usually cannot be pulled this way. A public profile link will give you the pins that person has posted.
Yes. Paste the pin link and the slides are listed one by one, so you can save a single image or all of them.
This tool works in your browser, so there is nothing to install. It runs on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac.
The usual reasons are a private or deleted pin, a link copied from a search page, or a short link that has expired. Copy the address again from the pin page and try once more.
Save video pins as MP4 files in the best quality Pinterest provides. Keep the animation of a GIF pin instead of saving only the still cover.
